Dogs and men bringing the first mail of the year ashore (which could reach Nome by sea from southern Alaska), across the pack ice of the Bering Sea, from the U.S. Revenue Cutter "Corwin". This was taken on June 2nd, 1907. The Corwin lay five miles off Nome's beachfront!
